ELCA Assembly Elects Council, Committee, Board Members
Voting members of the 2009 Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) elected lay leaders and clergy to serve on the ELCA Church Council, churchwide committees and boards.
Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan congratulates Larry Lutey, COO and executive vice president at LSS on his election. He will serve a six-year term on the ELCA Mission Investment Fund Board of Trustees.
The churchwide assembly, the chief legislative authority of the ELCA, met Aug. 17-23 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. About 2,000 people participated, including 1,045 ELCA voting members. The theme for the biennial assembly was "God's work. Our hands."
